PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
RACING MAINTENANCEIf you have a motocross or enduro type racer, Table 2 is a pre-race checklist you should always run through before each event, even if it is as short as a moto.
At the end of each race day, clean your machine thoroughly and inspect it carefully. Then give it a good general lubrication and make any adjustments necessary.
Table 3 is a maintenance schedule for racing machines. Full-time racing every weekend naturally requires more stringent maintenance than occasional sport and trail riding.
You will have to determine your own maintenance requirements based on the type of riding you do and the terrain you ride on, whether it be dry desert or wet sand and mud.
KICKSTARTERSeveral different types of kickstarter mechanisms are used on Kawasaki machines. Refer to the applicable section for the procedure to follow for your machine.
To remove the kickstarter, first take careful note of how it is installed, then lift it from the crankcase (Figure 101).
TYPE 1 KICKSTARTER
Figure 102 is an exploded view of this kickstarter mechanism. As the rider presses the kickstarter pedal, the kick shaft rotates clockwise (Figure 103).
As the kick shaft rotates, the kick pawl spring and kick pawl pin push the kick pawl away from the kick pawl stopper and into engagement with the internal teeth of the kick gear. Dc crompton potentiometer pdf.
After the engine starts and the kick pedal is released, the kick shaft returns to its original position. At this time, the kick pawl stopper (Figure 104) contacts the kick pawl and holds it away from the kick gear, thereby releasing the mechanism during normal running.
Prince one night alone live rar. To disassemble this mechanism, proceed as follows.
- Slide the kick gear from the kickstarter shaft.
- Disassemble the pawl, pawl pin and pawl spring.
- Remove the kick stopper from the left crankcase half.
